MEET THE designers

Michelle Aasman /

Designer

Michelle studied Fine Arts before transferring to Sheridan College’s Visual & Creative Arts program from which she graduated in 2011. It was there that she was first exposed to jewelry design and discovered a desire to create beautiful and enduring pieces of art. She currently works in communications for a relief organization and also keeps herself busy with freelance design and illustration work for both private and commercial companies.

Summer Ellis /

Designer

Summer has been in the jewelry design industry for over 10 years. Growing up within a family of Artisans, spanning various mediums from painting to architecture, commercial design to traditional crafting it only seemed natural for her to pursue a career in design. Summer brings her “romantic naturalist” design aesthetic to the Karen Blaauw Collection. She is continually inspired by people and their unique stories and seeks to create pieces that are timeless and inspiring!
